Festival of Food 2009

Brackley
This year was our second Festival of Food. It took place on Saturday 25th April in Brackley Town Hall and on the Piazza. It was another successful day and plenty of people came to support the event.

Waitrose of Brackley sponsored the day for which we are very grateful.

Many of the traders that took part in the first Festival of Food returned, Belflair Chocolate, Hoggley's Brewary, Heritage Apple Tree's and WI Country Market's were a few and then we had some new traders too, A Tastle of Italy, Tasty Thymes, Buy-Local, Fair Trade and Lark Rise Pharmacy plus many more. It is a very good way to promote local business's.

During the morning the St John Ambulance Badger's provided tea and coffee and then during the afternoon the 5th Brackley Brownies served cream tea's. A new activity for the day was run by the 2nd Brackley Guides. It was a childrens activity area set up for decorating giant cookies which were kindly donated by Waitrose. All the children that took part had great fun.

The school competion took place again. The theme for this year was Springtime on a Plate. All the children that took part from the local schools put a lot of work into their entries and it made it difficult to judge. This year the judges were Mayoress Elaine Dixon, Deputy Mayor Caryl Billingham and a representive from Waitrose. The winning school this year was Southfield Primary School but we would like to thank you to everyone that took part. Alot of hard work went into all the enteries.
