World of Machines

The theme for the 2008 Carnival is 'World of Machines'.

The Committee has plenty planned for the day for all age groups and we hope you will all come along and support the event and enjoy the day.

The day will start from 11am when the procession will leave Brackley Sawmills. The procession will be led by Banbury's Town Crier Anthony Church, Brackley's new Town Mayor and Mayoress and the Carnival King and Queen. The Army Cadet Corps of Drums, Banbury Air Squadron Band and the City of Coventry Corps of Drums will also be taking part. We also hope to have many walking and motorised floats in the procession including some vintage vechicles and a tank.
The procession will make it's way from Brackley Sawmills at the north end of town, along the High Street and into Brackley's Town Centre to Magdalen College School St Johns Site.
Once the procession has made it's way to the Carnival site at 12 noon the gates will open and the fun starts!

Throughout the day there will various entertainments for everyone to enjoy. Among the acts confirmed so far are the Amazing Globe of Death, this show is performed within a 5m special spherical metal cage. The riders will perform precision stunts and heart-stopping manoeuvres on their motorbikes, it's not to be missed!! Adams Axemen, their demonstations show the skill of a lumberjack or a forester, including some springboard chopping and crosscut sawing, then there is the 360 Degree Show where Nik Robson will perform some amazing stunts on his BMX bikes and Unicycles. You may even see him on a Penny Farthing during the day. Also making his way around the Carnival site during the day will be Topper.
